Fascia Release Training for International Traveling Physios – 1-on-1 Session from Japan

Teaching Fascia-Informed Treatment to a Visiting Physio from Indonesia

Last Sunday, I had the pleasure of offering a private 1-on-1 training session to a visiting physiotherapist from Indonesia. Even though we only had two hours together, the exchange was meaningful and powerful — a reminder of how universal our work can be when we meet through hands-on experience.

As we focused on his persistent lower back discomfort (an issue that had been bothering him for years), it quickly became clear: the tension wasn’t just in the lumbar spine. It was his quadratus lumborum, tightly working in combination with a shortened iliopsoas. With careful fascia-based assessment and treatment, we were able to release key restrictions — and, most importantly, he could feel the relief almost instantly.

We also explored concepts like Tom Myers’ Anatomy Trains and the idea of tensegrity in the body. But what resonated most with him was the simplicity of my fascia teaching philosophy, which I summarized for him in:

“Let your experienced hands dance around the tight fascia.”

That sentence made him pause — and smile. Because it’s less about force and more about presence, rhythm, and listening with your hands.

I’m always happy to share my CrossPhysio method with experienced therapists from around the world. Whether you’re an elite physiotherapist or bodyworker with a deep foundation already, or just curious about a fascia-based approach to chronic pain, I’m open to collaborations and personal training sessions.

Teaching can take place in Kobe at CrossPhysio — or even abroad.
