The story of your past is not the limit of your future.
The holidays are over. Maybe you feel refreshed, maybe you feel like you need a holiday from the holiday. Either way — the suitcase is unpacked, the laundry is done, and life is back to its usual rhythm.
This is the moment when it’s easy to slip back into old patterns:
“I’ll start exercising when work gets less busy.”
“My back pain is just because of my age.”
“I’m not a sporty type — never have been.”
These are comfortable thoughts, but as Alfred Adler — the Austrian psychologist — might say: they’re also ways of protecting ourselves from change.
Adler believed we are not prisoners of our past. The story of why you haven’t done something before is not the same as the reason you can’t do it now.
Your past explains where you’ve been.
Your goals explain where you want to go.
And the choice to move toward them — that’s your free will.
So, instead of asking “Why haven’t I been active?” try asking:
“What is my goal for my health, posture, and energy?”
“What small step could I take today toward it?”
“Who can help me get there?”
If you need a little push, guidance, or simply a place to start, we’re here.
At CrossPhysio, we work with your body — not against it — to help you move better, feel better, and get back in charge of your own health story.
Your holiday may be over, but the adventure into your best self can start right now.
